Sharing my favorite swap site - Swaptree

For you guys who have been around this blog a while, you know I love swaptree ! This is a great place for me to trade unwanted books, cds, dvds and video games for stuff I want. All for the price of media mail. Today a fellow blogger gave me a chance to tell her readers about swaptree. Here's a link to her blog and my guest post. Just last week I got 2 Hermie and Friends DVDS in the mail that I snuck past the kids and put in the Christmas box! 2 Christmas presents - total cost - less than $3.50!!! Not a 'deal' or a coupon..... but something important

I am no computer expert but I do know that my computer will run faster if I do some basic maintenance. This is something you should do weekly if you are on the internet very often (and since you are following my blog, you are probably using the internet quite a bit). You will notice your computer may move a bit faster after doing this if you have never cleaned these files out. How to clean out history, cookies and temporary internet files These are directions for Internet Explorer 8. If you have a different version, you may have to look under ‘tools’; then click on ‘internet options’. Then the directions will be the same. Open internet Click on safety Click on “delete browing history” Make sure these boxes are checked Temporary internet files Cookies history Click ‘delete’ A new box will open showing the progress Leave it open till it is complete

Free Starbucks drink on your birthday

Click here to sign up for a free Starbucks drink on your birthday. You have to create an account (it took me about 1 minute - didn't even need my address or phone). After you create your account, click on 'manage my account' and add your birthday. It says it will send you an email coupon for a free drink on your birthday. Usually birthday coupons can be used for about a week or so around your birthday. I'm guessing this will be the same.

Welcome new readers!

Welcome to several new readers who have just found my blog! I am always thrilled to share my savings adventure with new friends and family! A couple things to remember: I will never post a link to an offer that requires credit card or signs you up for a commitment (unless I let you know ahead of time) I never buy something just because I find a coupon. I print out or save just about every coupon for a product that my family would use because I may find it on clearance or at great mark down price even if it is a different brand than I normally purchase. When you first start, don't try to go back through every post . Just start at the top and as you have free time, start browsing back. I usually remove links for offers and coupons that are dead. So if it is still posted, it is probably still valid. (If you find a link that doesn't work, feel free to let me know so I can remove it!) You can't get every deal at every store . Choose the stores that are closest to you a

Donating $$$ to schools without spending an extra dime!

Image
If you have school kids, you probably already know about this. If not, here's something to think about. Box Tops for Education is a program that donates .10 to the school of your choice for every box top collected. There are tons of products with these box tops. (Hamburger Helper, Kleenex, betty crocker brownies) All you have to do is cut them off the product and save them. Check with your school system or look here to find a school that participates. My son's school, Hustonville Elementary, collects the box tops. They earn over $1,500 every year just from their students and families saving the tops from the boxes. Our school even has contest several times a year to help remind the students to save the box tops. It's great to save money for my family, but I love it when I can help out my school without costing me anything extra!
