It's been a while since I reminded you about free postcards! Hippopost! Here's what it is. You create a postcard from your computer, then hippopost mails an actual postcard to your friend or family. My kids listen to stories on their cd player every night to go to sleep.  They have listened to "Jesus Stories" from CD's that we found at the Dollar Tree several years ago, Disney stories, Dr. Seuss, Froggy stories and many many more!  They love listening to the stories and we love that they are hearing great books and stories nightly.  The problem is that they have now listened to their stories so much that they have most of them memorized.  So I am thrilled to find this site from University of Florida with tons of classics for FREE!  (Aesops Fables, Tales of Peter Rabbit, Count of Monte Cristo......) GeoTrax Steamer & Samuel Save the Day - 4 episodes It says it will ship in 12-14 weeks. *** This offer has been around since last Summer but it is still available.  We ordered our copy last summer and the kids loved it!   Even if you don't have young kids, this free DVD is a great idea for a grandchild or nephew's birthday.  You can send it in the mail as a gift for very cheap out of pocket.  We have a aunt (Thanks Stephanie) who often sends the kids free DVDs like this for their birthdays and they always make a great hit!!!

When you rent a movie from Redbox (these are the big red boxes outside McDonalds, Kroger, or inside lots of Walmarts) you enter your email address, your credit card and just pick your movie. An itouch is not a cheap toy but we've been saving for it and I used some swagbucks....so.... yep! I am now the proud owner of an itouch! Since we're on the subject of an itouch - let me tell you how its going to save me money! Read ebooks for free . I downloaded the amazon kindle app which offers tons of free ebooks! Listen to any of my music - anytime: We moved all our music to mp3s and am now able to 'swap' all those cds (tons of cds) for things I really want. Remember my favorite swap site? Swaptree ! View photos - No more carrying around pictures to show our latest family adventure; just upload the pics to the itouch. Calendar, Notes and voice memos Now before you go buy an itouch, please remember that this is my big splurge and I've been saving for a while to buy this. If you do have one though, you can agree - ain't it fun!

I love to read! and I love to read a wide range of books/authors. I am currently finishing up Beverly Lewis "The Shunning" that I downloaded free last month. Tonight I just downloaded a free ebook from Lisa Wingate "Talk of the Town". (supposedly she is a American Christian Fiction Write Finalist???) I like the price and I love trying new authors. If you are a Verizon customer, you could be getting a 15% discount! Thanks to my brother for passing this tip to me. Log in to your verizon account. Click on the red 'business' button (not the big business button at the top of the page.) That will open another drop down box - click on "employee discount" Enter your zipcode (If it doesn't work with your zip, try adding the city and state) Then you will find a place to enter your work email. A new page will pop up telling you whether you may be eligible for a discount. Then we got an email asking us to confirm the request. A few days later we got an email saying we had been approved for a 15% discount on our bill! If you are on Verizon - its' worth a shot!

Do you have an itouch, kindle or ipod where you can read ebooks? If you do, you might be interested to know that you can check out ebooks from your library - for FREE! Here's the deal: Contact your local library to see if they participate in the 'Net Library' If they do, just sign up and go 0nline to check out a book to your reader. (I think you get to keep the ebook for 3 weeks then it will just deactivate off your reader.) If your library does not participate (my local library does not), then contact the largest library near you. The Lexington Library DOES participate! Since I have a card from the Boyle county library (my local city library), I am able to get a library card from Lexington for free just by going in to their library and signing up! Now I have access to thousands of ebooks for FREE! Have you noticed that I love using the library resources? There are so many ways that our library saves me money!

Good question! If you have a Wii, you know that games are crazy expensive! We have a Wii and we refuse to pay full price for games. Here's some options that we have tried. (Warning: Some of thes options take time, but we really are trying to teach our kids that the things they want sometimes take time to earn.)
