What can you get for $5 at Amazon.com?

I'm the kind of person that thinks that if you have $5 as a gift card that you should not spend $6.00 to redeem the free $5. Does that make sense? I want a gift card to give me something completely free!

So here are just a few options to get you started using your $5 at amazon.com.

Would you like a free movie? You could use it for yourself or as a gift.
  1. Login to your amazon account.
  2. In the search box, instead of it saying all departments, click to movies & TV.
  3. In the search box beside there, type in either a name of a movie or an actor. (I used John Wayne as a sample search)
  4. Over on the right of the screen, you will see an option that says 'search by' and it shows the word 'relevance'. Click that word and choose the option 'price = low to high'
  5. Each movie that comes up will have 2 prices. A NEW price (sometimes the best option if you are wanting to spend more money) and a USED price (this is what we are interested in today)
  6. There will be tons of movie options under 'used' for .01 penny! The standard shipping for movies and books is usually 2.99. That means you would buy the item and your whole purchase will be $3.00. That will leave you $2.00 for your next item.
  7. You can search for books and cds the same way.

If you need ink for your printer - choose 'electronics' for the department.

  1. Type in your ink cartridge choice. There are tons of options there under 'used and new' for .01 cartridges. We've done this before too!
  2. Shipping for ink cartridges is 4.99 + your .01 ink cartridge and ..... you have a free ink cartridge!

Good luck! Let me know if this doesn't make sense, and I'll help you through your first amazon.com order!
