We have a Crayola Giveaway Winner!

And the winner is...... #2 - dmlagd!

Be watching. My Blog Spark has already sent me another giveaway that I get to start tomorrow morning!

"So you wanna save $$$$?" The Challenge!

OK folks..... the challenge is on. Can I help my friend, who shops at Target and Walmart, save $$$$ this week on her grocery bill? Since I don't shop at Target, I may need some input from you Target shoppers.

Here's three definite deals that you should be able to snag at Walmart as early as tonight! (To save on lots of items you will need coupons from other sources (newspapers, magazines, phone calls etc. Just keep watching the blog for a few days and you will see where you can get more coupons!) Most of the time, you should be able to click on the link again and print it twice (double the deals - double the savings).

Remember: It's always smartest to use a coupon for the smallest size item. That way you save the biggest possible amount of money.

Honey Bunches of Oats Cereal
- should be priced at your store for around 2.50
Use this $2.00 coupon here
Total for a box of cereal - under $1.00

Dole Canned Fruit - should be priced under $1.00 for the small can
Use the coupon here for .50
Total for a can of fruit - less than .50

Klondike ChocoTaco Singles - $1.00 for the individual packs
Use $1.00/1 printable coupon
FREE after coupon

Happy Birthday Month to me.....

My birthday's this month.... That means my inbox is full of free offers from lots of restaurants.

So, here's some of the free stuff (and almost free) that I got in my email box!

Samples & coupons at PG

If you haven't requested these recently, Click here to request samples and coupons from Proctor & Gamble. I tried to request mine, but it says I have already gotten mine this month. It might be worth a try if you're not sure.

Have you loaded your ecoupons recently at Upromise?

Have you loaded your ecoupons from Upromise lately? There is a great 1.00 coupon for Nestle fun size candy available. Just login to your account here. Then click on Ways to Earn, ecoupons. There are new ecoupons every month. Remember, these coupons don't come off your receipt. Instead they accumulate for your child's (or grandchild, or nephew, or friend, or yourself) college fund. (If you don't have someone you want to earn for, you can always add my kids name :-)

At the rate I'm going, I hope to buy at least one textbook for each of my 3 kids when they are ready for college. (They're only 2, 4 & 7). My upromise account is growing slowly - very slowly. But I am at $8.50 - so considering I have about 12 years before I need the money, I hope to see it grow in time to help out a little.

You can sign up here. I don't shop from but if you do, you can see your savings grow faster. For me, I prefer to start my online shopping through ebates, or mrrebates so I can access the money now.

Here's what we have purchased online that cost me NOTHING!

In the past 10 days, we have ordered these things online and paid NOTHING out of our pocket. (I had money in account from swagbucks, paypal and a $25 Barnes & Noble gift card)

  • New windshield wipers for our truck
  • Laser pointer for my husband's work
  • New floor mats for the truck
  • 5 new ink cartridges for our printer
  • Set of Little Einstein board books for my son's Christmas
  • an 80 piece set of marble racers - costs $24.95 at Barnes & Noble online

How have I done that? I use swagbucks constantly! I have sold a few random things on ebay, and I received some money back from where I had shopped online back in the summer.

Here's how you can get started making money that will allow you to make purchases online that won't cost you a penny!

  • Sign up for swagbucks here. Or if you are already a member, download the toolbar so you'll remember to search there EVERY time you search for something. The search results aren't always the same as google, but I'm willing to put up with a few extra seconds so I can see the money add up! If you are already earning regularly, bump up those earnings by referring some friends or family under your account so you will get a bonus buck every time they earn one too! How do you do that? Email me, and I'll walk you through it.

  • I always do any online shopping by starting at or That way I earn a percentage back in cash. If you haven't signed up yet, when you do sign up and complete your first transaction, you will get a $5.00 bonus start up!

  • I sell dvds, used computer or game system games, or books on Not everything will sell on Amazon, but media and books usually do pretty well depending on what the item is. Interested in selling on Amazon? Email me and I'll send you a response with all the details you need.

  • I sell random small items on ebay to pad my paypal account. Not everything will sell well on ebay but there are some things I do really well with. I sold a few kids game system books and games recently and made a nice little profit. Again, I will be glad to show you how to get started on that if you are interested.

There are ways to make legit money online to help your family. I will never be rich from the things I do online - but I am helping my family. How are you saving money for your family?

Great customer service at Sutherland Chevy!

My husband's car almost died finally last night. We've had it 10 years and almost 200,000 miles. We weren't surprised that it barely limped home. We knew it would cost way more to repair his car in the long run than go ahead and upgrade.

So last night we called Sutherland Chevrolet in Nicholasville KY and talked to Frank. We told him exactly what we wanted, exactly what we could afford. Within 1 hour, he had found way better than what we were looking for at the exact price we quoted. We drove to Nicholasville, test drove the truck, signed the paper work and had the whole process done within 3 hours. Now that's service!

If you are looking for a new or used vehicle in the area, I highly recommend that you call Frank at Sutherland Chevy and tell him Sharon sent you.

There were no long negotiations where he tried to muddy the transaction with fake smiles and shady options. Frank told us he was going back to the old ways where you told a customer what you have and come up with the quickest price that works best for everyone.

Excellent experience! and now my husband can safely get back and forth to work again!

Coupons for Gerber Baby Clothes

Looking to buy baby clothes? Gerber Childrenswear has some great coupons available:

$2.50/2 Gerber Onesies
$1 off sleep n’play or other apparel or bedding item
$2/2 Gerber blanket sleepers or pjs

Go here to print these coupons.

Free $5.00 at Kohls

It's been a long time since I reminded my readers about how to get $5.00 free to use at Kohls.

If you go HERE, and give them your email address, Kohl's will email you a $5 off coupon good in store and a coupon good for 10% off online. It takes about 5 days to get the coupon emailed to you.

It's one per email address.

So here's a tip..... Have your spouse sign up their email address too. That way you will have 2! You can only use one per transaction and I wouldn't try to use both of them back to back at the same register. Your purchase price must be $5.00 before tax. So I try to find something that is $5.25 etc before tax. That way your out of pocket including tax will be under $1.00.

Great way to get a stack of dish towels, kids tshirt, clearance candle or lotions etc

*** You will get tons of emails from Kohls after you sign up. So once you get your coupon, just go to the bottom of the email and unsubscribe!

Calling all local Money Savers!!!! I need you!

Usually I post about how to save money and find great deals. Today I am calling for help from all my local readers. My son's school is having a huge Family Fun Day on October 24. There will be carnival games, pony rides, Truck Touch (with tons of vehicles for the kids to examine up close), karaoke, corn hole, bake sale, games, prizes........ You name it!

Here's where you come in. I am responsible for finding lots of prizes for the kids. How does this involve you? I know I have huge stockpiles of crayons, notebooks, pencils etc. Don't you?

Here's a chance to donate some of those items for a great cause! Contact me and I will work out a place to pick them up. We will also be giving out 'kids meal type toys', hotwheels, matchbox cars etc. If you have any of these sitting around in your kids odds and end baskets, here's a great place to donate some of those as well.

Thanks a ton guys!
I know I can count on you to help out.

Of course.... you know me! I'm checking with all the big toy companies and stores, restaurants too. If you need something.... just ask!

$2.00 Huggies Coupon

Clothes, Toys and Kids Stuff for less!

Another way I save on my kids clothes, toys and 'stuff' is to shop (and sell) at consignment stores. The best place for local readers to save at consignment is at Melonie's Booth in Danville Peddlers Mall. My family/friends and I swap toys and clothes on a regular basis. But sometimes there are things that no one in my network can use and these things still have lots of life. That's when my friend Melonie steps in! She has been taking the stuff my kids can't use and selling it in her booth at the Peddlers Mall. Win/win for everyone! She makes a bit of money and I get a percentage of her sales.

Here's a note from Melonie about her booth:

" I just got in a large amount of girls clothing in sizes 6x to 10/12. All are in excellent condition and used gently by one little girl. All are available at my booth #98 at the Danville Peddler’s Mall. I have lots of children’s clothing sizes newborn through 10/12 at my booth for boys and girls. I have a ladybug costume 18M and a panda costume 12M available. I also have lots of children’s VHS tapes, new Webkinz, and several nice toys. The Peddler’s Mall is in the Danville Manor shopping center down from JC Penny and O’Charley’s. They are open M-Sat 10 to 8 and Sun 11 to 6."

Thanks Melonie for offering this to our area! Happy shopping folks!

Swagbucks - How could you not love it?!?!?

Alright folks, it's time to tell you again about how much I love swagbucks. Why do I love it? Because my family has received $75 of free money to spend in just 2 1/2 months!!! How did I do it? By using the internet to search just like I do anyway.

(If you are an old-timer at swagbucks, just skip this first part and jump to the end) :-)
  1. Go here to sign up (no credit card of course!) On the sign up screen, there is a box for a bonus swagcode - just ignore that for now and leave it blank.
  2. Download the toolbar here (I have been using for over a month and it really makes it easier to get my swagbucks). Just click on the big word that says 'download'. You don't have to use the toolbar but I find it easier to have it on my screen so I don't have to go to swagbucks home page every day
  3. Every time you need to go somewhere on the internet, just use the toolbar search box to type in your search.

That's all there is to it! Tough, wasn't it?

After a few searches (that you were going to do anyway) you will get a screen pop up that says "congratulations, you have just won a swagbuck". There will be a big picture of a buck on the screen. You can log in at the same place and it will remember your number.

Once you get to 45 - you can trade those swagbucks for $5 in gift certificate.
Read here to see what all you can do with $5 at amazon. We're saving ours up to use for something big - probably something for Christmas - not sure yet.

If you are already using swagbucks regularly, here's how you can get other people to sign up under your account. Every time your friend gets a swagbuck, you will get a matching buck! It really adds up fast then!

  1. Open your swagbucks home page.
  2. Click on promote at the top of the page
  3. Copy and paste the link that is in the big blue box and send it to your friend. That way you will get credit for all their swagbucks too.

Shop at Danville CVS on Saturday pm for Sunday deals

Sara Lee coupon update

If you were able to get the Sara Lee sliced meat coupon for $3.00 that was available last week, you can find it at Walmart. They carry the sliced meat beside the deli next to the cheese at the Danville Walmart. Cost: 3.98 - 3.00 coupon - lunch meat for .98! I used all the coupons I had printed off and put the meat in my freezer so we'll have lunch meat to last a while.
