Did you know you can get free gift cards from Office Depot by recycling printer ink cartridges?
I took 5 off brand used ink cartridges to OD today and they applied it to my Work/Life Rewards account. (Get a free account here or ask about it in the store.) You may turn in up to 5 a day. For each cartridge you will get a $3.00 credit! As soon as your account gets to at least $10, they will send you a Office Depot gift card the following month!
Too good to be true? That's what I think. But you better believe I'm going to be saving those cartridges and see how many more I can recycle.
The worse thing that can happen is that I don't get the money. At least I'm not putting the cartridges in the trash. I'll let you know if I get a reward card in January!

Again, Staples does the very same thing but it's a staples check instead. And it's sent every few months (quarterly, maybe?). I don't pay attention to when they come, I just know they do. $3 per cartridge
