Books, CDs and DVDs - How much do you spend each year?

How much do you spend on DVDs, CDs and Books in a year?

If the answer is close to $0 - then hooray for you! You must know your local library really well! Our library not only offers books for free checkout but also up to 3 DVDs at a time and several CDs at once as well. We love our library!

However, if your answer to that question is "Hmmmm...... I probably spend a bunch!" then this post is for you.

Our family loves to listen to music, read books and watch movies but truthfully the kids get tired of the movies sometimes and they are just taking up space on the shelf.

So how do we keep the selection fresh so nobody gets bored with own personal library? By swapping with people all over the country.

If you've read this blog long, you probably already know all about swaptree but please allow me to remind you about it once more.

We have completed over 85 swaps in the past 3 years! That means that for less than $2 each, we have been able to try out Disney DVD's (Little Mermaid brand new!, Peter Pan), Little Einsteins, Barbie movies, Action movies, Harry Potter hardback books (with no markings), a brand new book Eat This Not That, bestsellers like Why Do Men Have Nipples, Would You Rather books..... I can't even remember all we have tried out.

We have used the DVDs for Christmas and birthday presents many times, cleared out our shelves, and even bought used books, cds or dvds at yard sales to try then posted them on swaptree.

My point????? Swaptree really works for us! We save tons of money and get to try out new books, movies and music.

*One note, if you want to trade game system games, I suggest you don't put anything on your want list except other game system games so you don't get stuck trading a high value wii game for a kids cd or cartoon dvd.
